Five-star Chicago guard Charles Matthews became the University of Kentucky’s first commitment in the 2015 class on Wednesday morning when he announced his college decision during a news conference at his school. He is ranked the No. 11 junior nationally by Rivals.com and is considered a top-15 prospect by every major recruiting site. According to Rivals ratings, he is UK’s 24th five-star commitment since John Calipari was hired in 2009, including Class of 2009 five-star center Daniel Orton, who signed with Billy Gillispie in the fall of 2008.
